- Lloyd improves by 30 points - A full field of 56 Outbackers started from a two tees on the Cypress & Dune nines. Capt' Bob was once again kind, letting everybody go from the white tees. Burapha was generally very busy reflecting the current glut of golfers in the area, however most groups were round in less than four and a half hours. The greens were slick and the course elsewhere was in it's customary good condition. Large fields enable close grouping of handicaps in the divisions arguably making for more competitive golf; and today was no exception. It was quite remarkable the similarity of each division with two players in each of the four, beating their handicap and the third and fourth places in A, B & C were all decided with 34 points. Top scorer was Owen Lloyd, who had the round of his life [44pts] following his 14pts at Khao Kheow of Friday but nevertheless, as a visitor, will find his handicap reduced to 11 next time he plays in Pattaya. Lloyd won Div B by seven from regular Outbacker, Tony Garnett with 37. Elsewhere, Capt' Bob headed Div A with 39pts from Raji on 37pts and two Irish adversaries back on 34, Vin & Peter. Mark Riggall, on a quick R & R trip, demonstrated that he hadn't forgotten how to play the game, with an excellent 41pts to win Div C from Peter Stonebridge back on 37. Bruce McAdam [Div D winner] continued his find form with 39pts, earning himself another two ladder points and stretching his lead in that competition, having won last month; Martin O'Neill continues to improve and took second with 38 from two players back on 36pts, Ed Delaney & Nev Steward, who returns to Aus imminently. There were four '2's from Steve Milne, Nick Sidhu, Peter Ennis & Mitch Black [another player who was having his last game with the Outback, as he returns to Seattle, coaching golf]
